i knew it all along

I am nerdier than 9% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

therefore, when i was growing up and called others nerds, i had every right. unless they happened to be in the 9% range below me.
althought some may argue it takes a nerd to want to know how nerdy one is. hmmm i wonder how acurate this test really is.....

what's next, a freakin' mini-van?!

This weekend, the last member of my college circle of friends (X) turned 30. We all hooked up the 1st sememster of our 1st year. We were young pups at the ripe age of 18 as we started this journey through life together. After we left the dorms for apartment life, we enjoyed throwing parties as normal college aged kids do. But we couldnt just have a keg and open our door. Oh, no we had to get decorations and match our drinks to the theme of the decorations, and of course there was a keg. Three of us now live within an hour of each other so we see each other more often than the others. This is the 1st summer since college that we actually got together for each summer birthday. We tend to try to meet up near the last of the birthdays to celebrate the three together.

This year J had a luau themed backyard bbq. I had a suprise party. S wanted something fun to do as well. So, being the creative soul that she is, she had a b-day party where the b stood for bling. At her "bling"day party everyone had to come all sparkly and shiny.

Everyone did too! It was really fun. Some wore fancy jewlery they never get a chance to wear. Some wore outfits they only wore once before and were waiting for an occasion to wear it again. Others wore the trendy shiny belts and sparkly shirts.

After many cosmopolitans, margaritas, and/or pina coladas guests started filtering out. J shared with us, the smaller crowd still savorying our last drops, her great news of recently interviewing for a new position and landing the job. We congratulated her and she mentioned that it didn't pay as much as her old job but was glad to have benefits again. We all nodded in agreement, oh yes, that is important. Some party goers asked what insurance company she was with. Others complained about the extreme price difference when adding a new spouse. We all nodded in agreement, oh yes, that is horrible. The birthday girl, sitting in the middle of all this insurance talk, finally piped in.

"This is soo not what we talked about at my 20th birthday party."
