Gruene, Tx

*quick intro. - i'm andreea. this is my first blog as a first time blogger. previously i was a livejournal journaler (?). so anything under this blog was copied from my old livejournal, which will be deleted as soon as i'm done moving all those entries over. it's been interesting rereading them. anyway - here goes!

tomorrow is my cousin d's birthday. it is also so happens to be my friend j's birthday on the same day. every year since college (5 years now) i've been spending the actual day with cousin d. so this year i'm going to j's actual birthday bash. and today i spent the day with cousin d.

she wanted to go to gruene. so off to gruene we went. it's about a 20 minute drive from my house. first we had lunch at the gristmill. i had yummy chicken fried chicken. our poor waiter had bad hair. it was model like hair. it was brown with really blonde highlights, it looked as if he used a chi iron on it and bangs that covered one eye. well it just didn't really fit in with the country feel of gruene. and he had something white on his lip the whole time.

a girl i went to high school with sat at the table next to us. don't you hate that feeling of 'oh, there's amy, no, it was stephanie, nooo, gina...' then when you think you've correctly remembered the name you shrink up wondering if they'll remember you? i really hate running into people from high school. so i did as i always do, pretend not to see them and hope they are doing well.

after lunch we strolled through several little gift shops and antique shops in the area. i was looking for something small, cute and inexpensive for j's bday. i bought myself a coozie. it has this quote on it: "you may all go to hell, and i will go to texas" -davy crockett. i love texas.

that was pretty much our afternoon. i learned that d's friend j (different j) likes men that ride harleys. that was surprising! i took my camera to take lots of pictures but i only took two. this being one of them. it's the water tower over the gristmill behind the famous gruene hall.
